About Our Club
Formed in 2007 the Shotokan Ryu Karate Kyokai Kokusai – SKKK, (translated as “Shotokan Style Karate Association International”) is a reputable and recognised Karate association with UK and European clubs dedicated to teaching high class traditional SHOTOKAN KARATE as passed down by Master Funakoshi and Master Nakayama of the Japan Karate Association together with the later teachings of Asai Sensei.
The Karate within SKKK Dojo is primarily taught for self-defence but there is also a small element of ‘sport karate’ taught for those wishing to compete at national and international level.
SKKK, alongside its traditional JKA based Shotokan Karate also teaches Kobudo (Japanese weapons) following a structured syllabus and grading system.
All Dojo in the UK are licenced and insured through the British Martial Art and Boxing Association (BMABA) with all instructors being enhanced DBS cleared, fully first aid trained, insured and having followed and qualified in a structured Instructors Programme based on current sports and governing body requirements.
